Little Free Library Program is a non-profit founded in 2012. Mirroring this awesome effort, our 18W volunteers set out to help the cause. There are several Little Free Libraries set up throughout the 18th Ward that are monitored by our volunteers along with the Recreation Commission. Through Little Free Libraries, millions of books are exchanged each year, profoundly increasing access to books for readers of all ages and backgrounds.
The local Little Free Library Program included donations of unused newspaper boxes from the Reading Eagle that were repaired, cleaned, and repainted by volunteers at Reading Truck Body and Masano Auto Group. The local Rotary Club of West Reading-Wyomissing built additional little library boxes. Volunteers from across the 18 th Ward solicited book donations and continue to help stock the libraries.
