Mary's Shelter is a housing and social service agency that helps prevent pregnancy and youth

homelessness. They offer crisis intervention services and support to individuals and families in the community. Their goal is to prevent homelessness by providing housing, education, and social services.

Mary's Shelter assesses clients holistically, taking into consideration their needs, and provides

comprehensive services to help them live independently in the community. They also offer ongoing support to help clients cope with the constantly changing environment. Mary's Shelter's housing and social service programs are so successful that they have been used as a model for establishing new maternity homes.

Our 18th Ward community is coming together to show our support for the young individuals who reside in Mary's Shelter under the STRONG program. In order to meet their specific needs, we are organizing a coat drive that will specifically focus on teenagers and babies who are enrolled in the program. Your generous contributions will provide warmth and cheer to the youth in the STRONG program - and just in time for the holiday season!

The STRONG Program: A Safe Haven for Young People

The STRONG Program at Mary's Shelter provides a safe haven for young people aged 16-21, offering more than just shelter. Residents have access to gym facilities, a recreational area, a fully equipped kitchen, and a computer lab for educational and personal development. Weekly classes focus on life skills, and one-to-one counseling sessions help residents set and achieve their goals. With support in job searches, college applications, and career planning, the STRONG Program empowers residents to take control of their futures.
